Today's post

I may not fill the total in until tomorrow, but here's where it will go.  I am filling out My Fitness Pal and so far have 415 calories for the day.  Normally I start my day with about that many calories in two bites.

Tonight it's pizza and whatever else at a friend's house. I believe the total will not be pretty.

Total = 2,215.  Not as bad as it could have been.

Coasting in the fat lane

Well, I just say that because I believe I am making no progress - and no wonder - with my 2,000 calorie per day diet, I should not expect progress.  This challenge is extended till the end of June and now I'm thinking mid-July.  But anyway, here are the stats:

My Fitness Pal says: 2,032 calories for Thursday, June 13th.

Tonight:  Will post when tallied up (I've eaten 1 oz. of peanuts today and that's it.)

As Val said, confession is good for the soul, but the flip side of that is that confession is bad for the reputation.

** Well, guess what?!  Today's total is only 1,165.  That's right, I ate roughly half today what I've been eating in prior days.  I have a lot going on.

Tomorrow is going to be a doozy.  Dinner at a friend's, and I already know that pizza is planned. (Oh, sheesh.)

Worst blog ever

What I mean by that is:  No more pics, and now only a total of calories; at this point, I don't even post them on the correct day.  But I do total my calories.  And I may have a trick up my sleeve by the end of the month.

I will keep posting here until June 30, at which time I will record my final weight.

My Fitness Pal says 1,999 calories for Sunday, and
My Fitness Pal says 2,290 calories for today.

Note the totals creeping up.  Someone brought home food from... a carry-out food establishment, that's all I'm going to say.  This has to stop if I have any hope of peeling off even one more pound by the end of June.  Stay tuned; place bets on whether I can do it or not.  We'll see.

Did you think I wasn't coming back?

My Fitness Pal says 1,741 calories today.

Well, I'm back. I was doing well today until I came inside from exercising and thought all of my muscles were going to turn into mush. I think I had run out of calories 1/2 hour prior. So I ate enough to feed a small horse.

I have never mentioned it on this blog, but I exercise most days for a good hour outdoors, walking, and I mean hiking hard up hills in our neighborhood (and down them, too - I didn't want to imply that it's all uphill. That would only be possible if the starting and ending point were not one and the same.)

Not looking forward to weighing in on Wednesday because I think the horse-feed style dinners are going to be reflected in the poundage.

Taking the long view

My Fitness Pal says: 1,542 calories for today.

I'm nothing if not honest, so I documented every calorie for every morsel, every day for the last month-plus. And I'm going to keep on going indefinitely, although the pictorial aspect got old. I don't mind typing things into My Fitness Pal, though. Here is the report since I started the challenge:

Yesterday was the highest calorie count so far, and the lowest was when I was sick with a nasty cold and simply didn't feel like eating much.

I'm here, and let's talk about a mistake

OOPS: My Fitness Pal says: 2,715 calories for today. "If every day were like today... You'd weigh 159.7 lbs in 5 weeks."

I'm still in this until Wednesday, but I'm not sure the scale will show any more than the four pounds already displayed on the My Fitness Pal widget.  Let me depict something purchased from Panera this morning that seemed innocent enough:




This is a bacon and spinach breakfast souffle. It isn't as big as it looks in the photo. I guess it's bigger than a hockey puck, but not by much. So I didn't know that it was 570 calories until now. I knew it wasn't a "lite" selection. Now let's talk about how starving I was after driving around town in 90-degree heat for a few hours and how I ate not one, but two of these. So there's an instant 1,140 calories to start the day, and I went on and ate some other stuff too. OOPS
